These are not aspirations. They are checked before a nurse is assigned to a family.

An active Alabama RN license
Current, in good standing, and recorded before any nurse is assigned. Licenses are public, and we will give you the full legal name and license type you need to verify one before care begins.
Relevant newborn experience
NICU, pediatrics, postpartum, labor and delivery, or pediatric urgent care. Not general childcare.
Certifications on file
Applicable credentials, which may include BLS, PALS, and NRP, are recorded at onboarding along with years of clinical experience.
Clinical oversight
Leslie Brewer, CRNP, leads the clinical policies, the onboarding process, and the standards the team works to.
Matched to your family
Assigned on your feeding plan, your schedule, and the kind of support you want, rather than relying only on schedule availability.
Clear about the limits

Leslie is a board-certified nurse practitioner practicing in pediatrics, whose career began in acute bedside care. She founded On Call Peds Care to give families overnight support from nurses with verified pediatric, neonatal, and infant experience, combining in-home care with the reassurance of clinical knowledge. She is also a mother of five.

Several of our nurses have cared for medically complex infants in a hospital setting. That experience shapes their judgment, and it does not change what in-home newborn care includes: our nurses do not operate or interpret medical equipment, administer medication, or alter a feeding plan in your home.     We prioritize relevant experience and family fit rather than relying only on schedule availability. Where the right match is not free on the nights you want, we will tell you rather than send someone whose background does not suit your situation.
